Isaac Thompson

Our Man of Steel  Penn State’s dance marathon is the world’s largest student run philanthropy in the  world. For those brothers not from Penn State, know that it is our largest service event of the year. It is also an event that brings our whole university student body together to form an unbelievable bond that we will all cherish for a lifetime. Three years ago the fraternity adopted a THON child, Isaac Thompson. Many of us have share an unexplainable bond with him. One year ago , the brothers of the Alpha Chapter lost their dear friend to pediatric cancer. We brothers will never forget him, and we want you to know about his life’s message, as well.

THON and the Four Diamonds Fund have helped many families, like that of Isaac Thompson. Isaac was diagnosed with cancer in August 2006, sending him and his family through a roller coaster of emotions. Isaac battled through his illness with a courageous and positive attitude. He had the heart of an angel and the spirit of his favorite super hero, Superman. However, on September 10, 2008, he passed away. For the past three years, Isaac and his family have become an integral part of Delta Sigma Iota. We share his family’s belief that his life’s message was one of pure and unconditional love. Let us all implement that message to honor him in our lives forever, and to put us on the right path in our own pursuit. He will forever be an inspiration to us, and we are honored to have been graced by such a beautiful boy.

“We will continue to dance for our Man of Steel. We will continue to smile in loving memory. We will continue to hope, to find a cure…”

Rest In Peace Our Man of Steel, Isaac.
